I was thinking of buying the Time capsule 1TB but I have some questions.
Off course I'll use it to create backups with time machine. But I'm not sure how time machine will backup these. Will it create a copy of my data on my HD or will it create an unreadable file which can only be opened if you're using time machine to restore?
I need to know this because I'm thinking of putting all my media files (music/movies/photos) on my Imac. But I'd like an exact copy of these media on the NAS (on time capsule) so my laptop and other users can access this. If time machine uses the NAS for the exact copy of these files, everything is good! If it doens't make an exact copy, I need to set up the NAS (Time capsule) to have an exact copy of the media files on my Imac. which is a waiste because then I'll use unnecessary space (the media files from backup with time machine PLUS the same media files that can be accessed for streaming (to PS3) or for other users)
Putting these media files only on the NAS would be to slow for my regular daily needs for these files.
and in general, is the time capsule a good machine? Will it be vastly better than my old equipment which it'll replace?
Old equipment:
I'd greatly like to see your point of view.
Thanks in advance,

- my Lacie NAS, which is very slow (20 Mbit on wired network, 30 Mbit directly connected with cross-over) http://www.lacie.com/uk/products/product.htm?pid=11089.
I'd greatly like to see your point of view.
