Time Capsule & Bootable Clones?

I recently bought an Intel 24" iMAc with a 500GB hd and will need to buy a larger ext. hd. I'm curious what the thoughts are on Apple's Time Capsule as an alternative? It's wireless and the 1T version could backup two computers, BUT, it is not capable of making bootable clones! Is this a serious issue for others? Isn't that one of the key features you want if you clone your hd?
