Ok, so my previous gear was a 2 year old Linksys wireless N router, my home Dell PC, and two HP laptops. My ISP plan provides 10 Mbps d/l speeds.

Before, our typical connection speeds to the router averaged 54 Mbps. Not stellar I guess but it worked fine.

Last week I bought a Mac and a 2TB Time Capsule. (Love both, btw!) So last night I connected the HP laptops to the wifi network and they showed 300 Mbps speeds!

How the hell? I'm not complaining, but why can I connect to the TC at 300 Mbps, and the Linksys was only 54 Mbps on average? For comparison, this was at our normal distances from the router.

Thanks. I'm no expert on routers or wifi networks.
