Im trying to decide between a WD MyBook Live and a Time Capsule to use for a very basic server, but I don't know which would give me faster performance. Right now I have an Airport Extreme and would connect the MyBook Live via ethernet to that if I were to go that route. Also worth noting, my entire network is Mac-only. Does anybody have any real-world experience with either of these?

I'm also curious about this. I have my iTunes library stored on my Time Capsule and it works okay but it's a bit slow at times. Curious about the WD Live and if it's any faster for serving media.

Edited to add: it's not that the data throughput is slow with the TC, it's that the disk often takes a while to wake up when you want to do something. Just short 1-3 second delays.
