I bought a 2TB time capsule and set it up. Getting the thing to work was one thing, but luckily I figured it out.

The problem is, it drops my internet connection every couple of minutes. The internet cuts out for ~5 seconds, then goes back to normal.

Anyone have any ideas? I can't take it back to the Apple Store for 2 weeks, so I either need to fix it myself, or have really bad internet for 2 weeks. Thanks!

basically everything i own with an internet connection

macbook pro retina
macbook pro 2008

Try unplugging your apple tv and then see if your internet connection is stable.

Is it just the internet access? Can you talk to local lan devices when this happens? Had similar issues when I had mine last week (before I returned it) when wireless was still connected to my devices but no traffic would get through.

Firmware update took care of this

but come on, apple... i bought a $300 router, it took 3 hours to set up (plug and play? haha), and it completely obliterated my internet. i buy apple products to AVOID these problems. apple needs to do more testing before they ship a product to market
