Hi
I am wiping a 2tb 3rd Gen Time Capsule before selling it - I decided to do a 35 pass erase before I realised quite how long that would require - should it really take around 9 hours per pass!?
Thanks in advance,

I remember it taking several hours to do one pass on a 200 GB internal drive (5400 RPM).

Anyway, something like this I recommend connecting to Ethernet for.

Won't help, the TC is doing the erasing on its own. The utility is just displaying the progress.

35-pass erase is ridiculous. If your data is THAT sensitive, incinerate the drive.
