I read they should go to sleep or stop spinning. Mine does not. Info have the energy settings set to sleep drives. The too gets very hot and it just wastes electricity doing this any ideas before I call apple?
 
It should spin down after 10 minutes. Does it still stay spinning even if it is disconnected from the Internet an there are no devices connected to it or its network?
 
Mine usually spins down after 2 mins or so. Are you sure you can hear it spinning? The time capsule just runs out 24/7 with the drive spinning or not. The heat actually comes from the power supply and not the WD Green hard drive installed inside.
