I have been having an intermittent problem with Road Runner dropping out for about a week, which coincidentally is about when I bought and installed the Time Capsule. Today it has gotten so bad that it fails about every 5-10 minutes and the only solution had been to unplug the cable modem and restart it. I don't see how the Time Capsule could be causing this, but it sure seems like it. While talking to level 2 Time Warner support, just for grins I unplugged the Time Capsule and I was back in business (without resetting cable modem). I plugged it back in... and after a few minutes internet connectivity was lost again.... unplugged Time Capsule and it came back. Weird.
My network consists of a cable modem connected to a Linksys wireless /voip router. That is connected to a gigabit switch. Connected to the switch is a lot of stuff including another Linksys router running as a WiFi extender and the Time Capsule. The Time Capsule has WiFi turned off because it was causing problems there. So it is basically just sitting there as a switch with drives (albeit a VERY expensive switch and drive - 1TB version). Nothing is hooked to the Time Capsule. The MacBook Pro that I'm using is connected to the gigabit switch directly.
I've had to disable WiFi on the Time Capsule because it was causing problems and now I can't get it to behave on the wired network... not very happy with this thing right now. Can anybody think of any reason why this would be happening? Possible configuration setting to check?
