I thought that upgrading to Time Capsule (from a 2-year-old Airport Express) would make my Internet connection even faster since I'd have 802.11n now... the opposite is true. Websites are even slower to load, and not just when TC is backing up. Is anyone else having similar problems? Any recommendations to speed things back up?

No speed issues here, I switched from a lynksys. My iMac is hooked up to it with ethernet and macbook is wifi they both work pretty fast.

you should do actual speed comparisons to see if there is slow downs. Most internet connections are anyway slower than the throughput of wireless n and even g. I have 15Mbps connection and I have not seen any slow downs, i get the same throughput over the internet as before ~13-15Mb/s, although the wireless file transfers to other macs on my network is faster (even though all my macs are still on wireless G).
