I bought a 500gb time capsule a little over a week ago, had some trouble setting it up wirelessly (I would be told that the time capsule could not be connected after restarting) but after doing the initial setup via ethernet and then going wireless it worked perfectly.

Today, I noticed an exclamation mark in the menu bars time machine icon, with the message "backup delayed"; and then in the time machine preferences the message "backup volume could not be mounted" as the reason for the delay. So after googling this message I see that reselecting the time capsule as the time machine backup location should fix this problem, however the time capsule was no longer appearing under the list of external drives. After some more research, I see that the only alternative option is to reformat the drive and set it up again.

So I reformat the drive, reset the time capsule and attempt the set-up process, this time using the ethernet cable from the start. However even with the ethernet cable being used, the time capsule can still not be found after the restart.

Any idea what's going on, and how to fix it?
