What if Apple built in an Optical Drive to the Time Capsule so that they could stop putting them into their notebooks altogether. Would people like this? It seems to me that the future is wireless and CDs, DVDs, and (sorry but it's true), Blu-Ray will become obsolete. Is this possible? Given the MacBook Air's capabilities of reading CDs and DVDs from other computers, wouldn't this make the most sense if people wanted to upgrade from the USB optical drive that is being sold?

Just a thought.

It's not a bad idea but won't work because of ergonomics: a TC or an AEBS wireless router usually go on the floor or removed from sight. A DVD-drive requires physical interaction...
