Hello,

I think I am going to purchase a Time Capsule, however, I am concerned about having 802.11g devices (roommate's computer, Wii, my old Windows desktop) drag down the possible 802.11n performance that I could get for my MacBook Pro. Therefore, I was thinking about putting the Time Capsule in 802.11n only mode on the 5 GHz band and plugging our current Linksys WRT54GS into it to run in b/g mode on 2.4 GHz. Does anybody have any experience doing this with the Airport Extreme?

I have three primary concerns...

1) Is this even feasible? (I don't really see why it wouldn't be) I understand I would need different SSIDs.
2) Is it possible to use the WRT54GS as a "dummy"' wireless connection and let the AEBS/TC assign all of IP addresses so that everything is on the same subnet? This is of interest because I have my printer attached to my Windows PC and would like to be able to print to it. (I know that I could just connect my printer to AEBS/TC, but I don't want to do that, because the router will be in a room that is shared with my roommates, and I'd like to keep the printer in my bedroom).
3) Will hooking up the WRT54GS (and another desktop computer) which both have only 10/100 ethernet to the AEBS/TC cause me to lose the benefits of the Gigabit Ethernet capabilities, or can all the different speeds play nice?

Thanks for all the help!
