I'll be buying an iMac 27" in 2012. I already purchased the 16BGB memory from New Egg for it. My next question is with the 51.00 discount in Friday for the Time Capsule I am thinking of grabbing the discount. Or do I even need a Time Capsule now with iCloud ? Should I just get the Airport Base Station and rely on iCloud for back ups?

iCloud is good for only small important things, as its storage space allowed is limited.

It's good to have a time capsule.

Never put all your eggs in one basket. Time Capsule you buy once. iCloud is free for 5GB but chances are you will need more then that which would mean a yearly cost.

I would still get the Time Capsule which has the ability to backup your entire computer and use the free portion of iCloud for backing up really important things that you would not want lost say if a fire took out both your time Capsule and Mac.
