I currently have a 1 TB WD HDD, and i just purchased a time capsule to do time machine backups with my new macbook pro...

A friend of mine wants to buy my Ext. HDD, and i wanted to know if its possible to move all the files from my External to the Time capsule and still be able to do time machine backups?

i.e Time machine + Hard drive files? would i need to partition it?

thanks!:apple:

You cannot partition the Time Capsule without opening it up.

Although you can use the Time Capsule as a wireless HDD and for backup.

If you copy your hard drive's contents to the Time Capsule, Time Machine will use the remaining space until the drive is full, then will begin to delete the oldest backups in order to make room for subsequent backups.
