Hey!

I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out.

My new 2TB TC was delivered yesterday. I wanted to put it out of sight in the office, enabling me to use the USB to connect my printer but the main router is downstairs in the lounge (Cisco WRT160N).

I'm of the opinion that I can connect the TC wirelessly to my network without the need to connect it to the main router via ethernet?

Thanks,
Alex

Any ideas?

I'm guessing this isn't possible?

I had a similar setup for many years with an Airport Extreme connected to the wired network and a TC connected only by wireless and extending the wireless network with several clients wired to it and a printer.

I'm just not sure how to set it up when both routers aren't Apple routers. YMMV

I'm guessing to accomplish what I'm attempting I'd need to connect a AirPort Extreme to my non apple modem (via Ethernet) which will then enable me to wirelessly connect my TC.

Unless anyone has any other ideas?

I don't known what you say. you connect printer with USB and connect TC with wireless. why about main router?
