Time Capsule question

I currently own a WD MyBookLive 2TB NAS connected to my network. I'm looking to replace it with a new Time Capsule 2TB. Is it possible to copy the 6 months of time machine backups from my MBP to the TC? I want to keep what has already been backup'd.
