I want to buy a Time Capsule to back up my Windows desktop and two MacBooks too. I currently have Verizon FiOs with the router they gave me. My two laptops (and multiple other devices) are on the the wireless, and my desktop is hardwired to the router upstairs. My router is in the basement. I am wondering if I can leave my Verizon wireless router in the basement, plug the Time Capsule in upstairs where I currently have my desktop hardwired, hardwire the desktop to the Time Capsule, and somehow turn off the wifi signal on my Verizon router. Thoughts?
