Time Capsule Speed

I have an old Time Capsule, which I purchased in the spring of 2008. I've read that the newer TC has a faster wireless internet connection. Is this true, and if so, can anyone comment on how much faster it is (noticeably, negligably, etc.)?

I'm also curious to know if anyone can comment on wheter the Airport Extreme base station is a faster router than the Time Capsule.
