I have a 1TB Time Capsule and have updated to the latest v 7.3.2 firmware. I recently upgraded my internet connection to Comcast Business ($95/mo very fast) and get 22-23Mbps download speeds when connecting my MacPro 2x2.8 Quad Core machine running OS X 10.5.4 directly to the Comcast-labled SMC Cable Modem router via Ethernet cable. But when I connect using the Time Capsule, I can only get 3.6Mbps throughput.
I am pretty sure the Time Capsule router is capable of much better performance than this. Even the inexpensive LinkSys routers can do better than 3.6Mbps throughput.
Any suggestions on how to debug this? Has anyone seen this discussed online, either here on MacRumors or elsewhere?
I get the same result when I connect my 15" MBP through Time Capsule - so for now I am running it directly off the Comcast Router (with an Ethernet cable) and am getting 23Mbps download, 2.5Mbps upload speeds.
Perhaps there is a configuration change I could make, with the Time Capsule that would help? I am running 5 static IP's from Comcast, I have
assigned one to the Time Capsule and am letting it assign dynamic IP's on it's 4 LAN ports via DHCP.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions on how to debug+fix this! If any other tests could be run, or information supplied let me know and I will post it here.
