Time Capsule USB port power

Hi

Just wondering if the time capsule USB port provides constant power or does it power down?
 
It doesn't provide any power. You need to have an AC adapter for your USB device, or connect it to a powered hub.
 
I thought you could plug a 2.5" USB hdd and power it from that?
