Considering the speed transfers that provides gigabit ethernet's standard (1000 mbps) or wifi n (300 mbps) its useless usb 3.0 on this device...

The updates are pretty infrequent, and I wouldn't bet that they would include USB 3.0 any time soon since it rarely benefits standard hard disk drives and SSDs don't come in sizes large enough that many people would have them and want them connected as NAS.
