Is it possible to use Time Capsule just for wireless storage with my iMac and MBP. I am using my school wireless network, therefore i don't need a wireless network, but the 1TB time capsule is very attractive, i want to transfer my database wirelessly into a harddisk.

The Time Capsule would work just like a NAS then. You're going to want to use it via Ethernet though. You'll be limited to one wireless network at a time and the Time Capsule doesn't go anywhere upstream.

what is NAS, what do you mean by upstream?

network attached storage. Meaning you could just access the drive over your network.

So can I access the drive without internet connection? Just a wireless connection between the drive and my iMac....
