Hi guys

Just a quick Q.

We have two windows machine which are wireless B / G compatible and a mac which is wireless N.

They are all connected to the TC, working fine. I was wondering if the TC has automatically switched to B / G mode instead of N, which is slowing down the wireless connection to my mac? Or can it handle both wireless types at the same time?

Thanks in advance

because you have the B/G wireless devices the TC will be using 2.4ghz mode, meaning that N is slowed down significantly.. instead of being 300mbps, it will only be around 150mbps. B/G will still be their normal self (G=54mbps, B=11mbps).

An alternative to upgrading all of the adaptors would be to buy a b/g router and set either it or the Time Capsule to act as a bridge, then setting the Time Capsule to transmit wireless-N only, creating a dual band network. N devices connect to the TC, b/g devices connect to the other router, and all are on the same network (different SSIDs, same subnet, only one router doing DHCP).
