Time/Date, Battery Issues on iBook G3 Dual USB

Most times when i log onto my iBook i have to change the date and time as it is incorrect. I do know the battery has nothing in it, turns off when i remove the plug. I need a new battery. Is this affecting the date/time or is it another issue?

Yes I believe the battery is the problem. I enquired about this issue some time ago and was told it was a dead main battery or that the PRAM battery was dead.
