Time it takes to mount external USB2 dvd???

I just got a mac mini superdrive in an external USB (powered) case. It seems like it it taking long to mount, and I'm thinking about RMA'ing it.

Can anyone let me know how long it takes to load a data DVD on their external drive over usb2 (preferred) or FW? Thx

Less than a minute I'd guess. I'd return it.
