Time it took to jailbreak iPad 2

Hi all

I have a question which answer could make me decide to go for the iPad 2 or 3.

I was wondering how long it took before people could jailbreak the iPad 2 after it came out.
Was it only till January with iOS 5 or were they able to do it before that, but then with a lower iOS?

Reason I ask this is simple, not enough functionality with a non jailbroken device.

The iPad 2 was jailbroken due to an exploit via safari (jailbreakme). If I remember correctly the exploit was released sometime in June or early July

Aah okay, if I had to wait till January next year it would definitely be the second one.

2-3 months I can wait, now lets hope it's the same timespan with the third one...
