Hello,

I just got a new unibody MacBook Pro, and started using Time Machine right away. I love it.

Kind of forgetting about the whole process of Time Machine, being very invisible as it is, I proceeded to use Vuze (Azureus) to download some large torrent files. I realized that my 750GB external drive was filling up really quick with Time Machine, and immediately attributed it to the long-running downloads in progress in Vuze. My questions are:

How does Time Machine handle downloads in progress?

How can I delete duplicates of the downloads from Time Machine?

How can stop this problem from happening in the future?

Thank you all in advance for any help.

If it's a large download it'll make a new backup every time Time Machine runs. I'd exclude any directories where a lot of changes occur on a frequent basis with large files/directories.

For example I exlude my virtual machine hard disk images from Time Machine.
