Ok, ive tried everything. I got a new Mybook 750gb external today to use with time machine. I was expecting to plug it in and it "just work". I plugged it in, it showed up on the desktop and i click on the time machine icon and tried to set it up with the Mybook. I got an error message something about reformatting it. i unplug it and plug it back it, only to have it not show up in the finder or desktop. hmmm So i open up disk utility (which i have been using a lot lately due to 4 kernel panics since Leopard) and it shows up in there, but not my desktop. I click on it and try to verify permissions, freezes up, have to restart computer. -Takes forever to get to the login window since leopard. Open up disk utility again and try to repair permissions, but i get an error, see first picture. Then i try to erase the disk and i get an error, see second picture.
