I have a MacBook Pro which is great. I have been backing it up to an external HD which is 1 TB so it is a bit bulky and thus usually kept on my desk with the laptop. I would prefer to have an offsite backup that is as precise as my time machine time capsule now. The only difference is that I want it on a remote server as opposed to an external HD in my apartment. Is it possible to do that with iCloud? If not, does anyone know some other providers such as Dropbox or something like that? Thanks in advance for the help!

This business seems to do what you're describing, but they do charge for the service and if the size of your backup is larger it could be pricey. There may be other ways, or services that do this though so I'd wait for others to weigh in as well. Good luck.

BTW, I think this idea of yours is a good one. Just throwing that in there. Say if there was a fire or some kind of unforeseen event you could have a way to retrieve your data.

That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
