Hi, does anyone know much about TM & iTunes?

The reason I ask is that I've just been adding a couple movies into iTunes. The movies are stored on an ext HD so should not be being backed up by TM. The movies were pretty big (~4gb each). Since doing this I noticed the TM icon in the bar at the top was spinning so I clicked on it to see how much stuff it was backing up and it said ~8gb. Does this mean that my movies are being backed up? I've had a look on my TM drive but it's hard to find anything without using the TM app, and with that I can't find the movies. I'm sure they must have been backed up though! Is there a way I can check this.

please note that the ext hd that the movies are on is in the list of volumes not to back up.

Probably iTunes copied them into its library which isn't on your external hard drive ;).

Look at iTunes, iTunes Menu>Preferences>Advanced>"Copy music into iTunes Library Folder" if you don't want to do that.

cheers for the guess but I don't have it set to copy into the itunes library - My MBP HD is 90% full anyway so there's no way that it's copied without me noticing - my free space is still the same.

I'm guessing that no, they aren't being backed up. You told TC not to back up that drive and you can't find the movies anywhere in the backed-up files, therefore it's not backing them up.
