Whenever I open mail to a folder and then go into my time machine backups, I briefly see the contents of the folder and then mail crashes. The crash log shows a problem with io.sentry.Sentry. Has anyone else seen this problem? I am on 10.15.2.

I have never tried that before. But, yes it crashes for me too.

Crash report includes:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Unexpected number of persistent stores (0), expected 1'
Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=256 "The file “Accounts.400.db.timemachine” couldn’t be opened." UserInfo={NSFilePath=/var/folders/y7/fw40md652kng9bbczythwfc40000gn/T/com.apple.mail/Accounts.400.db.timemachine, NSSQLiteErrorDomain=14}
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException
