Downloading an unknown file is a bit risky.

Many of the major NAS manufacturers have already relased updates or will be doing so shortly. For instance Qnap already released an update to resolve this problem.

Personally when you're talking about backups, I'd prefer not needing to hack my system to create one, as it may come back to haunt me later.

i get this error when time machine is trying to backup to the windows share.. any solutions?

The backup disk image “/Volumes/externalhd-1/ZB.sparsebundle” could not be created (error 45).
