hey! I have an imac 27 inch that was part of the hdd recall program but when i got the computer back from apple the Fusion drive wasn't working anymore. So it was basically an SSD drive and a regular hdd. Until now i just used the hdd as a storage drive but tomorrow i was gonna format both drives and reinstall them as a fusion drive. The only thing i was wondering is what is gonna happen to the files that are in my time machine backup from my old hdd if after reinstalling that hard drive does not exist anymore in the OS? Cause the time machine backup will try to write files to that drive to recreate the system as it was before reinstalling.

It will be fine. Once you rebuild the Fusion drive the TM backup will see it as one drive and you can just restore the TM backup to that.
