Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but it seems every time I do a Mac OS update, my Time Machine Backup has an error and fails to back up.

For example, my last backup was May 3rd 2018, I just downloaded 10.13.5, and today my TM Backup had some error and would not backup.

I have to erase my backup disk, and start a completely new back up.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Insight appreciated,
m

I suggest you try a cloning backup app such as CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper.
No more TM problems!

You're not alone ... and I found a solution, which you're probably not going to like ... I had to erase the hard drive (meaning I lost all my previous backups) and formatted it as MacOS Extended (Case Sensitive, Journaled). I haven't had a problem since.
