Time Machine Backup Freezing

Hey guys,

So I got my new MacBook Pro yesterday and I've attempted a backup via Time Machine. But the problem is that the backup just all of a sudden stops. I've tried it about 5 times and it stops around the 5GB mark where absolutely nothing happens, the whole backup just stops. I even left one of the frozen backups for a couple of hours and it still never moved. Anyone know a way around this problem?

FIXED! Turns out it was because of me using firewire (maybe a fault in the cable?). Anyone else that has this problem, try and use a USB 2.0 transfer instead as it worked for me and it isn't noticeably slower.
