In /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.backupd-auto.plist I have changed 3600 to 86400 (24 hours). However, right now, in Time Machine preferences, it says:

Latest Backup: 8:02 AM.
Next Backup: 9:43 AM.

And here's the really weird thing. 5 minutes ago the Next Backup was like 10+am. It just changed to 9:43 AM.

Works like a charm for me

Alright, hope it does for me as well. :D

But any idea why editing com.apple.backupd.plist doesn't work? Or is it just that the changes won't be reflected in TM Preferences?

Sorry... no idea on that
I just know I prefer this solution to mucking around myself

Alright. Another thing though. In TimeMachineScheduler backup interval is set to 12 hours. According to TM my last backup was Yesterday at 7:36 PM. It's now 9:00 PM today. Clearly 12 hours has long passed.

So how come no backup was performed? If my computer happens to be switched off, then it will just skip the backup?
