Hi,
I have a summer 2009 17" MBP w/ 500 GB hard drive and two external 1 tb drives both FW 800 daisychained together. I started time machine the other day and let it do the initial backup of my MBP's hard drive. I have all my DV based home movies that I have imported to an external drive. Then I have Time machine backups on another 1 tb drive. What are the pros/cons of letting time machine back external movie hard drive as well? My initial time machine backup was about 90 GB of the MBP. I have about 190GB on the external home movie drive. I have imported all my dv taped footage there and then i'm starting new projects in imovie on that external drive so it uses it as a scratch disk. Will it confuse time machine having to back up the external hard drive I am using as storage/scratch disk? I noticed in the Time machine options it was excluded by default. I still have the original dv tapes of our home movies, but I was thinking if I did backup the other external then i might save myself from having to re-import all of those if the movie external drive crashes...?

Thanks,
any input is appreciated.
