Time Machine Backups and Restore to Different Mac

Ok, so I have been running on a MacBook for over 2 years, now I want to be able to restore everything from my MacBook Time Machine Backup to my Mac Mini?

Is this possible, or do I have to just copy everything from the external drive to my Mini

It is possible.

You can always migrate to the new machine. If you want to do a restoration just make sure your version of OS X is newer than what ships with the Mac you're restoring to.

I will try this tonight, however I have to upgrade the Mini to SL bc the uMB is 10.6 so I need to get then on the same version first.
