Time Machine backups and USB over IP issues

Hi guys.
I think that many geeks like me are here and You can do something like that.
The main aim is to speed up the process of initial network backup and final restore.
The only way I see is to use USB drive at first back up (and final restore). So we need something like USB over Ethernet while dayly backing up with Time Machine (I do it to Linux server over AFP).

Does anybody hear about using this option?
