Having issues with the SSD I keep my OS' on. Have to restore every couple weeks, which obviously isn't working for me.

So, I keep Time Machine backups of this drive. If I were to get a new drive, would restoring from this Time Machine backup have any ill effects on the new drive?

Only if the reason for you having to restore is caused by any or some of the files that you're backing up. If it's the actual drive that's causing it, then no - there will be no negative effects.
