Ok - so I clicked something I shouldn't have when I tried to connect my MacBook to the Time Capsule that was backing up my iMac. It said something about take ownership and I figured it was because the MacBook started life as a copy of my iMac - so I said OK.
Big mistake - now my iMac can't backup to the Time Capsule because it doesn't have enough space and cannot see any of its old backups - while the MacBook also can only see its own backups. Given the disk is full - which is because it previously had iMac backup going to June - I'm now stuck not being able to backup and not being able to delete old backups because they don't appear in Finder or any of the Time Machine views on either computer.
I need to either delete the old backups or reconnect my iMac with its orphaned backups - but I've no idea how to achieve either thing!
