Hello All,

My iMac has an external drive that I use as my Time Machine drive. This drive is shared and used by my MacBook for the same purpose.

On the MacBook, I added the drive (names Backups) to my login items, because Time Machine seems to fail if the drive is not already mounted. However, once Time Machine starts its backups, a second instance of the drive gets mounted on my desktop, this time with the name Time Machine Backups.

So, in the end, I have two mounts to the same drive, one named Backups and the other Time Machine Backups.

Does anyone know of a way around this? is there a way to make Time Machine auto mount the drive when it needs it?

Thanks.
