Hi all, I just received my new mbp today :)D) and I have some questions about time machine. I connected a WD MyBook Studio Edition II (500GB x2, RAID 0) to my mbp via FW 800.

Because the drive already contains some of my old files, I thought I would have to pull them out to my desktop and then re-partition the drive into two parts (one for TM one for other files) to use it for time machine. To my surprise, it turns out that I don't have to - after setting it up as my TM drive, I am still able to use the drive for other files.

The question is, of course, is that something I should be doing. Is there any consequence for not having a dedicated partition for TM? Is that going to mess anything up? Another thing is, as I previously stated, I am running the drive on the default RAID 0 setup. While I do enjoy the extra speed that gives me, I feel kind of weird for having my backups on a RAID 0 drive... what do you guys think? A big thank you for everyone in advance.
