Over the hills and far away...
I keep getting the error saying that my backup will not fit in the backup volume, but shouldn't Time Machine automatically delete old backups to make room for new ones?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hardware:
2.2 MBP 10.5.7 (120 GB internal HD)
120 GB External HD (USB)

Ok, so I have tried reformatting that external and picking it for time machine again, but it did not work still. I do not understand what is going on, this worked fine before (I recently did a fresh reinstall)

Did you find a solution?

Hiya,

Did you find a solution to this problem? I've just had to reformat my external hard drive partition in order to fit it all on but like you were saying in your first post Time Machine is suppose to automatically delete the oldest back-ups!

Thanks.
