Time Machine from one computer to the next.

I am selling my MBP and want to move all my files, documents, etc etc onto the MP I will buy. I won't have them both in my possession at once. I dont want to have to go through all my files to get everything I want, moving it from my MBP to an external. soo..

Can I use my time machine drive to put all my files on to my new MP. I ask bc I thought I might also get files that the MBP needs to run but not the MP. Anyone?

i think you will be fine using Migration Assistant to migrate your Time Machine backup from your MBP to your MP.
