Hey guys, Im hoping Santa brings me that HD and external enclosure I asked for. Im just wondering, I know it'll probably be formatted in HTSF. Will I have to format it with disk utlilty first, or when Time Machine asks "Would you like to use this external drive for Time Machine?" does it automatically format it for you? If I have to do it manually, what are the correct options I should choose? Sorry for such a n00b question, I just want to be ready for tomorrow. Merry Christmas!

Time Machine will automatically format your drive to the correct file system (in this case, HFS+, which is used by OS X). You don't need to mess with disk utility, just answer in the affirmative when it asks if you want to use the drive for Time Machine backups.
