Hi,

I got a new MacPro to replace my Macbook and simply used migration assistant to migrate my user data and settings to the new MacPro.

Everything works fine, just not Time Machine. The same drive that was used on the Macbook is not being read correctly by the MacPro. If I run "enter" Time Machine, the drive shows no backups.
If I enter the drive itself through Finder, I can see the Backups.backupdb folder which holds my backup folder and a secondary folder with a 2 added to the end of the name...

How can I configure Time Machine so that it accesses my previous backups?

Thanks.

So if I understand correctly, you want to migrate your information from your old Mac's time machine to your new Mac.

To browse another Time Machine disk, enable the Time Machine menu in the menu bar and then hold option while selecting the Time Machine Menu. If done correctly, the menu should have the option 'Browse other time machine disk', or something of the like. I just did this after having to send my MacBook Pro in.

Thanks for the quick response.
I always forget that Option is a magical key.
That did work, I guess I'll browse around that way.

Thanks
