I decided recently to do some sanity checking on my Time Machine backup, and have discovered that there are some files which are updated on my main disk, but these new versions have never been copied to the Time Machine.

I have verified (using Lion's new tmutil isexcluded command) that the files are subject to backup.

How can I force Time Machine to back these files up the next time it runs?

Is there any way to get Time Machine to forget where it was, and do a full backup actually comparing directories?
