Time Machine - Multi Macs - Single HDD ???

Quick question ....

We have a single 1.5 TB HDD used as Time Machine for iMac.

Is it OK to hook that up to another machine and backup say a MBP and have both backups reside on the same HDD?

My gut instinct tells me ....YES

Just looking for confirmation before I do this.
