Time Machine- New Drive

Hey guys. I have a 500gb drive which I've been using to backup with time machine. I bought a 750gb drive and i want to use that as my backup. I don't want to loose any of the backups from the 500gb drive. Can i just clone the drive using superduper and the computer will think its the same drive?
